3D Battlefield Images from
Resaca, Georgia

The first image was created by combining a colored, hillshaded digital elevation model with a scanned map image from the Conservation Fund’s Civil War Battlefield Guide. The results were displayed with the ArcView 3D Analyst and captured as a JPG image file.

The next four images use digital orthophoto quarter quad (DOQQ) aerial photography draped over a digital elevation model, and displayed with Erdas’s Virtual GIS package.
